Cafe Old Vienna is an excellent Austria/German restaurant (also offers several Hungarian dishes). We went here for the lunch special served between 1130-1530. The Veal-Jager Schnitzel was amazing, the breading was crisp, not greasy. The mushroom/jager gravy was creamy. It came with spatzel and red cabbage. I would recommend this dish! We also had the Bratwurst & Sauerkraut, came with home-made fries. The bratwurst was delicious and pairs perfectly w/beer! I'm normally not a fan of sauerkraut, but it was delicious w/a little kick (from the caraway seeds). Get 2 bratwurst since it's only $2 more. The home-made fries were okay, I liked that they were not greasy or salted. Wish they had more German/Austrian beer choices, but great beers that you can't easily find in the area. I was not really impressed with the beer garden/outside seating since scenery is of buildings/road/parking lot, but they have a large awning for shade and umbrellas at tables directly in sun. It's a good area for large groups. I would definitely recommend Cafe Old Vienna, to anyone visiting Myrtle Beach.

I never made it to their previous location but this new one is great. It's conveniently located and has it's own parking lot so getting in and out is easy. The service was wonderfully friendly and the food was delectable. We started with an order of calamari that was amazing. It was fresh and very lightly breaded so it didn't taste greasy at all. I think it came with a side of garlic sauce but I'm not entirely sure. There was a small container of some sort of sauce that was really tasty. They had lunch specials that day so I ended up ordering a jaeger casserole which was a pork jaeger snitzel on a bed of spatzle smothered in the mushroom gravy. It was very tasty and the portions were ridiculously huge. I took at least half of my meal home with me for later. My husband ordered the sauteed liver lunch special. It was served in a creamy sauce with spatzle and vegetables on the side. His was also good but you definitely have to like the taste of liver to enjoy it. We both do so we would certainly order it again in the future. I don't actually know if this would be considered authentic or not but more importantly, everything was delicious. It's just a bonus that it was also very reasonably priced and came with wonderful service.

Of the three German Restaurants I have eaten at in Myrtle, this one is By far the Best! Highly recommend the Veal Schnitzel with Almond Breading with a tall german beer to drink, I have ordered this many times and it is as consistent as it is delicious. The restaurant's new location is walking distance from the Boardwalk area. Definitely the best German in Myrtle, and one of the best overall in Myrtle in my opinion.

The food was interesting for sure! We ordered a variety off the lunch menu and shared. I would recommend the potato salad and sausage! Both are interesting but the rest? Eh, it's worth a try but not sure about eating on a regular basis. The staff here are excelent, the waitress from Uzbekistan told us everything about the food and made good recomendations and afterwards stuck around to talk to us. She was enthusiastic and a good waitress.

This restaurant took me back to my favorite life experience I've ever had in an Austrian restaurant in the back country of Vienna, Austira. This place is authentic and the atmosphere is amazing. We happened to visit on polka night where they have a live musician playing the accordion. Everything about our experience has been perfect. The German Riesling is fantastic. The food portions are huge. I highly recommend the German feast for two if you want a taste of all the traditional German/Austrian staple dishes. It is more than enough. This place made my whole vacation. I am now craving another vacation to Europe.

Save yourself a trip to Germany. This restaurant is incredible! The best schnitzel this side of the Atlantic Ocean. If in Myrtle Beach this place is MUST!!!

Seated outdoors by a very nice young lady. Sat out there for 30 minutes without any of the dozens of staff walking by even saying hello. At around the 20 minute mark, I flagged down the nice young lady to let her know I didn't think anyone knew we were there. We left at the 30 minute mark. Food sure looked good though.

This was exactly what we needed after two days of nothing but eat-what-you-can-find-on-the-interstate fast food. The food at Cafe Old Vienna was simple, but it was delicious.

Last time I had food this fresh and of this quality was in Munich and Salzburg Austria. I have been quite a few places in the U.S. and nothing comes close to the authentic German food in cafe old Vienna. You really must try this restaurant, not only to take a break from the all you can eat joints, but to truly experience authentic German food and atmosphere. Oh, and the live accordian player is a big plus. I'd give it 10 stars if I could.

We came here tonight for our anniversary and I am so glad I did. The food was fantastic. We got the potato pancakes for an appetizer, and if those had been the only things I had eaten, I still would have been satisfied. They were delectable. I ordered the original veal wiener schnitzel and my fiance had the Parmesan chicken schnitzel. Both were delicious. We ordered mojitos and they were the best I'd ever tasted. Highly recommend, I will definitely be back.

We got the bratwurst and pork schnitzel lunches. They were not amazing but they were pretty. The service was nice and attentive. I would go back.

This was our first time to try the Cafe Old Vienna. Do make a reservation. The restaurant was filling up quickly, and we had a 6:30 PM reservation. With a German-Austrian focus, the restaurant is like stepping into a classic European restaurant. The new location is warm with wood panels and classic German décor. They had an accordion player for the evening - nice music but a little on the loud side. We loved seeing the servers dressed in Dirndl and Lederhosen. The menu offered many classic choices. Our server, Mykle, was a delight - very attentive and friendly. We ordered 2 original Veal-Wiener Schnitzels with red cabbage and spaetzle and 2 Viennese Gulasch with a medley of vegetables and spaetzle. All of our dishes were generous in size and delicious. We were too full for dessert, but they looked very good.

Used to go to old location when we lived in Myrtle Beach for 30 years and was a favorite. Came back to visit and found new location. Just as good if not better. Great European food and atmosphere. Highly recommend. Wife had restaurant in Germany and is great cook and she loves this place.

I remember the small location and often a move to a larger location means a place has lost the great food and feeling...not so with the new Café Old Vienna on 16th street. The service was great from the Bar (Violetta was so nice) to the table where Amina made great menu suggestion. I have served in Germany many years ago and must say all our meals were spot on. The Escargot was just right swimming in butter as were all the meals. We enjoyed the Single Bucco, Kettle Gulasch, Styria and Single German with our granddaughter enjoying the Kids Flounder meal. Desert was a true joy with many selections. We split our time between FL and SC and can assure you that the new Café Old Vienna will be a must go to when we are in town and should be on your list of great dining places in Myrtle Beach.

Read reviews and decided to try Old Vienna for dinner. We arrived at five and were seated immediately without reservations. Waitress appeared promptly and took our orders. We ordered the sampler plata for two so we could taste everything. Very tasty and more than enough for two. Got dessert that was very rich and oh so good. Service was impeccable. They have live entertainment on Wednesday and Saturday. We had an accordion player, very fitting. Our bill for the amount of food was cheaper than most places we have eaten in Myrtle Beach. I recommend this restaurant if you want a change from seafood and steak.

If you are interested in an authentic German/Austrian meal, or just want the satisfaction of fresh made, quality food, this is a good choice. The goulash, trout and schnitzel were very well made. Service was very friendly and efficient. They were out of Sauer Braten when we visited, but promised to have it back on the menu and serve to us for lunch on Tuesday when they reopened. This is apparently their signature dish. Nice selection of quality German lagers on draft to complement the meal. No your touristy, kitchy Myrtle Beach joint, but a very well maintained, quality restaurant that we will revisit with every trip we make to MB.

We love German food since we both lived there when we were young. So we were very excited to try this restaurant. The kitschy accordian player who sat in front of a fake fireplace with a fake digital photo of a lake was interesting and added a bit of "atmosphere," BUT deep fried schnitzel with veal that could hardly be found inside was not only disappointing, but flavorless. To be fair, service was excellent, and the salad was very good. We bought a apple strudel to go, and my husband was sick all night. Luckily I didn't eat it. We paid as much to eat here as we did at the fantastic, elegant Library Restaurant! That was shocking. There are two other German restaurants in the area that we will try next time.

Pretty sure this a new location for the restaurant. The place is very clean and has lots of seating. The waitress was obviously new as she was being shadowed by another waitress. She took our order quickly and was very pleasant. The food arrived quickly and was very tasty. I am not that familiar with German food but it was very good and there was a more than enough. My only problems were the price of the drinks. $5.75 for a bottle of beer seems pretty high and it took the waitress a long time to deliver the bill....she had a table of 10 outside that she was taking care of too. I would definitely go back.
